Debates * Reeves - Cook Debate * Bruce Reeves' final letter to Gene Cook, Jr.

Gene,

I received your email recently of course. You asked me if I "remembered" my agreement to come on to your radio program. Do you remember our agreement? You asked me the following question Tuesday evening of our debate, "Would you be willing to allow me to interview you for my radio show before I leave so we can have some direct interaction." I answered, "If he means after Friday night, absolutely." Of course you did not even speak to me after Friday evening. You left so quickly that there was no opportunity afforded me to be on your radio program..

After reflection, I am not interested in coming on to your radio program, however,
I am willing to meet you in debate in San Diego, California upon the subject of the Perseverance of the Saints, commonly known as "once saved, always saved." If you would like to include cross examination in that debate I would agree upon the condition that I have the first and last speech.

Here are the propositions that I propose.

Resolved: "The Scriptures teach that a child of God, i.e. one cleansed by the blood of Christ from his past sins, may live so as to be eternally lost."

Affirm:Bruce Reeves

Resolved: "The Scriptures teach that it is impossible for a child of God, i.e. one cleansed by the blood of Christ from his past sins, to live so as to be eternally lost."

Deny: Bruce Reeves

Sincerely,
Bruce
